Lovewell Lake Closed for a Second Week

It will be closed until at least next Friday, July 30th. That was the order issued by the Kansas State Department of Health and Environment yesterday after the latest test of water from the lake still had dangerous toxin levels. Beatrice rescue personnel responded to a possible drowning below the West Court Street bridge in Beatrice Wednesday evening. According to witnesses, Eric Pospichal, 23, was swimming near the dam when he was pulled underneath the water by the current.
