USD 113 Fills Vacant Board Position

During a special meeting Tuesday evening, the board voted to appoint Jeffrey Demint to fill the unexpired term of the late Roger Brockoff.  Demint was among two candidates interviewed for position 2 on the board. David Schmitz, Wetmore Attendance Center Principal, is retiring.

Bern Patron Request Property Transfer to Nemaha School District

A group of 159 Bern area patrons have met with the USD 115 school board to request transfer of their land into Nemaha Central USD 115.  112 of the patrons have children of school age.  Many Bern students will attend Nemaha Central when Bern school closes next year. USD 113 Hires New Superintendent

The Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education announced they have offered Dr. William Orth the position of Superintendent.  The board met in a special session on Wednesday afternoon and voted unanimously to approve a contract with Dr. William Orth.  Orth was offered a two year contract with an annual salary of $100,000 plus benefits.  Orth will begin work July ...
