Black Mold Found In Area Corn Fields

Saline County Nebraska extension educator Randy Pryor reports that black mold is appearing in corn fields throughout the Southeast Nebraska area.  Pryor said the black mold is an alternaria that has also been reported in dormant grasses. Gage County Third Graders Farm Education Event

Third graders in Gage County will enjoy a day on the farm this Wednesday.  The youth will be provided with seven stations to learn about life on the farm.  Sessions will include information about cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, grain and farm-to-table.  The event is sponsored by the Gage County Agricultural Society and the University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension Office. Board of Regents Raise Tuition Fees

It’s official – the Kansas Board of Regents approved new rates yesterday that will increase tuition costs for university students next fall. Two K-State Freshmen Arrested for Criminal Use of Explosives

Two Kansas State Freshmen have been arrested in connection to pop bottle bombs found on the Kansas State campus near a student housing area.  Kansas State University Police reported that 19-year-old Jacob Termini and 19-year-old Joel Watkins were arrested for criminal use of explosives, which is a felony.  Bond was set at $2,000 each.
