Kansas Government Adds 16,000 Jobs in One Year

The Kansas Department of Labor reported Kansas Government agencies employed 16-thousand more people in February 2011 than in February 2010.  The revelation was made in February’s Unemployment report. Marshall County Unemployment Highest in KNDY Listening Area

Marshall County has the highest unemployment rate in the KNDY listening area with 5.5 percent according to the Kansas Department of Labor’s Report on January Unemployment. Washington County reported 5.0 percent unemployment and Nemaha County reported an area low of 4.1 percent unemployment. Unemployment Rates Fall

Unemployment has fallen in Marshall, Washington, and Nemaha Counties in December.  Marshal County fell from 4.7 percent to 4.3 percent.  Washington County fell to 3.8 percent down from 4.2 percent in November.  Nemaha County was 3.3 percent in December down from 3.7 percent in November.  The Kansas Unemployment rate fell from 6.7 percent in November to 6.4 percent in December.  ... Unemployment Rises!

Unemployment rose during the month November in all but one Kansas County.  Kansas Department of Labor released the unemployment figures Friday.  Atchison County was the only county to see a decrease from 8.3 percent down to 8.0 percent. Unemployment rates in September were down in most area northeast Kansas counties compared to August. Marshall, Nemaha, and Washington County unemployment rates rose during the month of July.  The Kansas Department of Labor released the July unemployment rates Friday.  Marshall County unemployment rate was 4.6 percent, Washington County was 4.4 percent and Nemaha county was 4.1 percent.  The unemployment rates were up from June, but down from July of 2009.  Statewide, the jobless rate increased ...
