Gage County Inmate Dead After Reported Hanging

A Beatrice man died Tuesday after he reportedly hung himself at the Gage County Detention Center last Thursday. Thirty year old Chad E. Gesin was being held on assault charges following a domestic incident July 4 in Beatrice. Bern Man Killed In Industrial Accident

Ronald Lee Hastings of Bern was the victim of an industrial accident Tuesday morning at the Fairview Mills plant in Hiawatha. Hiawatha Police Chief John Defore reports that Hastings was working with a piece of machinery when he became entangled with it. Hastings was reported dead at the scene of the accident by authorities.
