Beatrice rescue personnel responded to a possible drowning below the West Court Street bridge in Beatrice Wednesday evening. According to witnesses, Eric Pospichal, 23, was swimming near the dam when he was pulled underneath the water by the current. Vehicle stolen in Hanover

Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to 109 East Elm Street in Hanover to take a report regarding the theft of a vehicle.  According to a Washington County Press Release a 2001 GMC truck registered to Midwest Product Hanover was taken from the residence.  The vehicle was recovered later in the evening and the investigation is still pending.
