Duckwall-ALCO Stores Inc. announced Friday that it plans to close its ALCO location in Beatrice. Friday the store began marking down prices on many items prior to its closing date, which is anticipated by late August. Robyn Riekenberg, longtime owner of Dawg’s Hut Sporting Goods in Beatrice passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning.    Riekenberg  grew up and graduated from Hanover High School in 1980. The 400 block of Broadway officially opened for traffic on Tuesday Night.    The repairs included curbs, colored concrete, waterline installation, and electrical wiring for streetlights. Grocery Store Victim of Burglary

Haverkamp Grocery in Centralia was the site of a burglary sometime between 3:30 p.m. on December 26th and 7 a.m. on December 27th. Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the break-in and theft of an undisclosed amount of cash. The Sheriff’s department reported that the building was also damaged.
