Duckwall-ALCO Stores Inc. announced Friday that it plans to close its ALCO location in Beatrice. Friday the store began marking down prices on many items prior to its closing date, which is anticipated by late August. The 400 block of Broadway officially opened for traffic on Tuesday Night. The repairs included curbs, colored concrete, waterline installation, and electrical wiring for streetlights. Haverkamp Grocery in Centralia was the site of a burglary sometime between 3:30 p.m. on December 26th and 7 a.m. on December 27th.
