Livingston Enterprises Fire Ruled Accidental


A fire March 22nd that destroyed four buildings of the Livingston Enterprises hog confinement operation south of Fairbury was ruled accidental by the state fire marshal’s office. Twenty-six area fire departments, including Kansas and Nebraska units responded to the blaze at the 10,000 head swine farrowing complex.

Fire Destroys House South Of Beatrice Tuesday


A fire Tuesday afternoon south of Beatrice destroyed a home near South Tenth and Linden Roads. Wymore, Blue Springs, and Beatrice city and rural fire departments responded three miles south of Beatrice shortly before 5 pm. No one was at home at the time. The state fire marshal was called in to investigate the fire’s origin, which remains undetermined.

Fire Damages Odell Home

A house fire in Odell caused extensive damage to a home on Thursday evening.  Odell, Diller and Beatrice Firefighters responded to a blaze at a house owned by Jake Rutti just after 5 p.m.  The home is located on Highway 8 and Highway 112 west of Odell.
