NEK-CAP Receives Grant Funding To Expand Services

Northeast Kansas Community Action (NEK CAP) has received grant funding that will allow expansion of services in several counties, including Washington, Republic, Jewell, Smith, Mitchell and Osborne. A series of local focus groups will meet in July to help determine needs and priorities. A meeting is planned in Washington on July 11th, noon at Mayberry’s.   Read More »

REPUBLIC, KS—The Kansas Historical Society announced that Pawnee Indian Museum State Historic Site will host a holiday open house 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday, December 8. Overbeck Funeral Monday

The funeral for Washington County Sheriff Bill Overbeck will take place this coming Monday at 10:00-AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover. The 58-year old Overbeck died Tuesday at his home in Hanover of an illness. Washington County Undersheriff Traci Hattesohl is serving as interim sheriff until a successor is appointed.
