Beatrice woman injured in rollover accident

Two arrested for salvage yard theft

Two Fairbury men were arrested Monday after attempting to sell stolen equipment.  Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received information related to a possible burglary at the salvage yard at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday.  Officers were given information about a person trying to sell two trucks and two John Deere tractors to the Dorchester salvage yard.  The items were an exact ... Marysville loses Public Works Director and Council person.

Marysville no longer has a public works director.  Jim Mueller resigned his position at the September 13th Council Meeting.  Mueller had served as the Public Works Director since 2003.  Ward 4 City Council member Carol Phillips also resigned.  The council will begin a search to fill her position. Marysville man found guilty of attempted murder

Douglas Kling of Marysville was found guilty Wednesday afternoon of five counts related to the 2009 stabbing of his wife. A 12-person jury deliberated only 15 minutes before unanimously convicting Kling of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated assault and criminal threat. $800 worth of tools stolen in Corning, Kansas

$800 worth of tools were taken from a garage at 868 96th Road in Corning, Kansas.  Sometime Between March 16th and April 16th an unknown person took sockets, wrenches and a motorcycle battery from the garage.   The investigation is ongoing. Read More »

Fatality Accident on K99 near Olpe reported

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office remained on the scene of an accident late Wednesday that claimed one life.
