Manley To Fill Vacant USD 108 School Board Position

Rhonda Manley of Washington will fill an unexpired term for District Two on the Washington County USD 108 School Board. Randy Hubbard resigned from the position in November, the term runs through June of 2015. Teen With Marshall County Ties Fatally Shot In Davenport, Iowa

An eighteen year old, with Marshall County ties, was fatally shot in Davenport, Iowa Friday morning. Thomas Nye Taylor, son of Todd Taylor, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities termed it an isolated incident, and the person responsible for firing the weapon was interviewed. The investigation into the accident, which was reported around 4:30 a.m. Friday in Davenport remains under investigation. Graveside services were ... UPDATE 3/14/14 – The Washington County Sheriffs Office is reporting this evening that Matthew Peters, who was missing from Greenleaf, was found deceased. The Sheriffs Department reports that they do not suspect any foul play and the investigation into his death continues. Man found dead in Nemaha County

The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Wendell “Bunk” McLaughlin, age 77, of rural Corning on late Sunday evening.  The reports states that officers responded to a missing person report in southern Nemaha County, where family members said they were unable to find him.  After a short search, they found McLaughlin dead.  No other information was given in the report. Law Enforcement Looking For Man Impersonating A Cop

Law enforcement personnel are looking for a man impersonating a police officer. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office put out a notice today to be on the lookout for 45-year-old Robert Wayne Helms of Pittsburg, who could be connected to up to 25 cases of impersonating a police officer, and trying to cash fake checks. Blue Springs Brawl Sends 2 To Beatrice Hospital

Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Wymore and Beatrice Rescue workers were called to a 5 person brawl in Blue Springs early Sunday morning. Ambulances transported 23 year old Holly Mick of Wymore and 23 year old Adrian Hourigan of Axtell to Beatrice Community Hospital for injuries sustained from the fight.
