Westar rate increase approved

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Kansas regulators have approved a $17 million rate increase for the state‘s largest electric company. The Kansas Corporation Commission said Thursday that residential customers of Westar Energy Inc. should see an average increase of $1 in their monthly bills, or 1.3 percent.
