Marshall County Choir Begins Practices

The Marshall County Community Choir’s Christmas concert rehearsals begin Sunday, October 16. The choir rehearses at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, Marysville, for ninety minutes each week. SRS Reforms Take Effect October 1st

The Kansas Secretary of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Rob (said-leck-ee) Siedlecki, addressed reforms for rules for applicants and recipients of several state welfare programs. Preliminary Hearing Set for Former County Attorney

Former Marshall County Attorney Brian Carroll is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Court October 11th. Carroll did not enter a plea at the most recent hearing, leading District Judge Jack Murphy to schedule the preliminary hearing. Carroll is accused of misappropriating more than $70,000 from the Marysville Berean Church over a four year period. Read More »

Railbed Project Bid Approved

A bid of $764,426 was accepted for the Marysville railbed project. Goodwin/Thime Construction of Sabetha submitted the lowest of 4 bids. The bid must now be approved by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Marysville will receive $300,000 from KDOT for the project. Accused Murderer Bound Over

23-year-old Amanda Marina Baynton of Marysville was been bound over to Marshall County District Court on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault. The preliminary hearing for Baynton was held Thursday and Friday. Arraignment is scheduled for October 4th. The charges stem from an incident that occurred June 8th.
