Slow down on blacktop north of Greenleaf!!

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind travelers that the blacktop road between Highway 36 and Greenleaf has a 55 m.p.h. speed limit.  They realize it’s easy to turn off of Highway 36 and just stay at 65 m.p.h., but the speed limit is 55.  As a result, the Sheriff’s Department will be increasing patrol of that roadway ... Man trapped in grain bin successfully removed, but with injuries

Fire Destroys Baler, Buildings and Hay Field.

  The Washington, Hanover, Steele City, Diller and Hollenberg fire departments were called out to a fire north of Washington, not far from the Nebraska border.
