Longtime Editor & Co-Publisher Of The Marysville Advocate Howard Kessinger Passes Away

The longtime editor and co-publisher of the Marysville Advocate newspaper passed away early this morning at Bryan Memorial LGH Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Howard Kessinger, who dedicated over 30 years of service to the Advocate before retiring in 2012 was 81 years old. Consultants met Wednesday with student leaders, district employees, and patrons of USD 364 in the search for a new Marysville school superintendent. Additional information has been released by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office concerning a story reported yesterday by KNDY news. SRS Closing Marysville Office

The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services plans to close nine service centers across Kansas in a cost-cutting move–including the office in Marysville. The agency said Friday that SRS beneficiaries will see no disruption in services as their cases are reassigned. A home fire was reported at 2194 All American Road, Thursday Morning. According to Washington County News Reporter Dan Thalmann Hanover City and Rural and Washington RFD 9 responded to the fire.
