Graduation Ceremonies Scheduled

Area schools will hold their graduation ceremonies this weekend.  Axtell will graduate 9 seniors on Saturday at 2 p.m.  B&B Baileyville will graduate 16 seniors at their ceremony on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  Linn will hand out diplomas to 15 graduates Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  Nemaha Valley graduates 36 students at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Washington County graduation ceremony will ... Nemaha Central Will Postpone Baseball/Softball Programs

Softball and baseball programs won’t begin in Nemaha Central USD 115 until 2013.  The teams will include players from Nemaha Valley and B&B Schools. Superintendent Darrel Kohlman recommended the delay to organize the programs and make an attempt to have a full schedule of games closer to Seneca.  The board voted in October to begin ball programs. Nemaha Central, USD 115 will consider at their December meeting a proposal to close the St. Benedict Elementary facility after the 2013 school year. Meetings with school officials and the public were held, and the board reviewed the initial draft at a recent meeting. Semi Driver Injured After Semi Rolls

A one vehicle semi truck accident resulted in injury on Friday and temporarily blocked Highway 36 just south of Axtell in Marshall County.
