The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information the public may have regarding a forced entry into a building at the Nemaha County Landfill that resulted in an undetermined amount of cash being stolen. Eight head of cattle found dead in Nemaha County


Eight head of cattle were found dead in late April north of Seneca, apparently poisoned by a bucket of Furadan, a trade name for Carbofuran, which controls insects in field crops, including potatoes, corn, and soybeans. The seven cows and a bull were able to reach the bucket and pull it inside the fence where they ingested it. According to Nemaha County ... 300 gallons of diesel fuel stolen near Baileyville


The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of nearly 300 gallons of diesel fuel from two semi’s parked near 192nd and D Road north of Baileyville. Wheaton Man Arrested For Discharge of a Firearm


Brian S. Thiemann, age 39 of Wheaton, was arrested Wednesday evening by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office for the offense of Criminal Discharge of a firearm.  The investigation is ongoing.  According to the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office, Thiemann was released on bond Thursday evening.   Read More »

Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office investigating theft

Nemaha County Sheriff Investigating Thefts


Several thefts were reported by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department. Sometime between 11 p.m. on August 23rd and 1 p.m. on August 24th an unknown person cut the lock to a storage unit at 892 US Hwy 36 and removed two dirt bikes.  Approximate value of loss is $515. Tractor Stolen Near Centralia


Nemaha County Sheriff’s department is searching for a 1960’s International 760  tractor, discovered missing in rural Centralia.  The owner of the tractor discovered it was missing last week.  The tractor was parked near 1060 16th Road.  The owner valued the tractor at 4-thousand-dollars. Read More »
