County Stampede fatality identified

A 20-year old man who was found unconscious at the Country Stampede and died in route to the hospital has been identified.  Sheriff Greg Riat says security at the Tuttle Creek State Park called his office after Jacob Krueztzer of Beaver Creek, Nebraska was found unresponsive at the campground about 2:30 Thursday morning. Beatrice man killed by tractor

A rural Beatrice man was found under the wheel of a tractor. Chuck Benash, 55, was pinned underneath the left rear wheel of a tractor south of his home Monday morning.  The Gage County Sheriff’s Office reported Benash was last seen operating the tractor at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.  Investigators believe Benash got off the tractor for an unknown reason.  ... State Delays Public School Payments Again

It sounds very familiar… the State of Kansas has delayed some of its monthly aid payments to public schools. The delinquent March payment makes it the 6th consecutive month all or some of the state payment had been delayed. Norris Public Power District Christmas Day Power Outages

As of 6:00 a.m. this morning, Norris Public Power District has around 2,500 customers without power due to the winter storm that has hit the area. The District serves customers in Gage, Jefferson, Lancaster, Saline and Thayer Counties. All five counties are experiencing scattered power outages with Thayer County being affected the most.
