Washington County Fire Crews Kept Busy With Pasture, Barn Fires


Recent fire calls in Washington County had the Haddam and Morrowville fire departments respond to pasture fires January 22nd and 23rd. Hanover firemen were called out on the 24th for a controlled burn out of control, and Morrowville had a similar call January 26th. Barnes and Greenleaf departments responded to a barn fire last Monday at 2404 6th Road.

Prairie Hills USD 113

Prairie Hills USD 113 School Board meeting Monday discussed the Capital Outlay Resolution for a  continuous and permanent 8 mill tax, which was defeated by voters, and instead adopted a resolution for a six mill levy for a period of five years, which was approved on a 6-1 board vote.

Jami Ellenbecker Announces Changes In Marshall County Motor Vehicle Department


Marshall County Commissioners met Monday. County Treasurer Jami Ellenbecker advised that she was proceeding with the motor vehicle salaries she had proposed for her office, even if the board does not agree. Injury Accident Sends Marysville Woman To Hospital


An injury accident was reported Monday morning in Marysville. Jessica N. Meyer of Marysville and Ellen L. Barber of Marysville collided at the intersection of North Street, and North 14th Street. Barber was taken by ambulance to Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.

The Marysville City Council met Monday. Following discussion, they approved easements as dedicated for the Bulldog Apartment Complex, proposed just east of the Senior Housing Duplexes.
