Blue Rapids Woman Indicted For Theft Of Mail


A former Marysville postal employee was indicted for embezzlement of first-class mail and political mail in October. Carissa A. Nester, 34, of Blue Rapids, was indicted on one count of theft of mail by a postal employee. The U.S. attorney’s office says that if she is convicted, the maximum penalty is five years in federal prison and $250,000 fine.

Former Marysville resident, Larry Lord, age 63, pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $500,000 from the commercial construction company, Cheney Construction, Inc. in Manhattan that he worked for from 1995 to 2012.
