Neapco Explosion – Not an Explosion

Officials from Neapco manufacturing released a statement concerning this weeks fire and reported explosion of an air compressor.  According to Neapco the compressor was contained in a four-sided wooden structure. Explosion at Beatrice Manufacturing Plant

An explosion and fire occurred Saturday night Neapco Components. The Beatrice Fire Department responded to the Neapco Components Building located in the Beatrice Industrial Park late Saturday evening.  Fire officials believe a radiator failure caused the explosion of an industrial air compressor in the northwest corner of the building.  Firefighters reported the sprinkler system contained the fire to that area. ... Owner Blames EPA for Business Closure

Since 1997, Setzer’s manufacturing and HeatSource 1 in Beatrice will discontinue the manufacturing of their outdoor wood furnaces immediately. Economic Recovery for Kansas Still Slow

Creighton University Economist Ernie Goss is predicting Kansas will be one of nine Midwest and Plains States to see its economic recovery in 2010 go slowly.
