The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) wants to remind the public to have their animals vaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian. “We have a significantly higher number of confirmed rabid animals this year”, said KDHE State Public Health Veterinarian Dr. Ingrid Garrison. Local Residents Affected by the Heat

While area hospitals report an increase in heat related patients the Kansas Department of Health and Environment says heat has contributed to the deaths of at least three people this summer in the state.
