Dawg’s Hut Owner Dies Unexpectedly

Robyn Riekenberg, longtime owner of Dawg’s Hut Sporting Goods in Beatrice passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning.    Riekenberg  grew up and graduated from Hanover High School in 1980. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to Visit K-State

Tom Vilsack, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, will present a speech as part of Kansas State University’s Landon Lecture series. The talk is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. April 10 in McCain Auditorium. Two K-State Freshmen Arrested for Criminal Use of Explosives

Two Kansas State Freshmen have been arrested in connection to pop bottle bombs found on the Kansas State campus near a student housing area.  Kansas State University Police reported that 19-year-old Jacob Termini and 19-year-old Joel Watkins were arrested for criminal use of explosives, which is a felony.  Bond was set at $2,000 each. Washington City Council Terminates City Administrator Kurt Hassler

Washington City Administrator Kurt Hassler was terminated by the Washington City Council during a special meeting on Thursday. According to the meeting minutes the council returned to open session after two executive sessions lasting approximately 35 minutes.
