Beatrice Man Sentenced In New Years Eve Bar Fight

A Beatrice man, 23 year old Dion Lechman, was sentenced last week to 20-36 months in jail in connection with a bar fight New Year’s Eve in Beatrice that resulted in a broken jaw. Charges of terroristic threat as well as assault also resulted in more than $9,000 in restitution due. Read More »

Gage County Considers Outsourcing Prisoners

Gage County is considering outsourcing prisoners to jail facilities in neighboring counties. That discussion followed budget request increases on top of $120,000 annually which was previously set aside for improvements to the jail in Beatrice.
