Man Killed During Pursuit

One man died in a police pursuit of a pickup on Monday.  The pursuit occurred approximately 11:35 p.m. near Pawnee City. The pursuit reached speeds up to 85 miles per hour.  The pursuit ended 0ne-half mile north of Nebraska 4 on 646 Avenue near Humboldt, in Richardson County.  The pickup rolled over stop sticks and the pickup entered a field.  ... Local Post Offices Will Remain Open

Several area post offices that were on a list of potential offices to be closed have received a stay of execution – for now.  Instead of closing the offices the Postal Service intends to cut hours from eight-hour days to four hours for Axtell, Baileyville, Beattie, Bremen, Centralia, Greenleaf, Summerfield and Barnes.
