Flags Ordered to Fly at Half Staff to Honor Slain Officer

United States and State of Kansas flags have been ordered to fly at half staff on Thursday to honor Sgt. David Enzbrenner, a 24-year veteran of the Atchison Police Department.  Enzbrennerwas killed last Friday by 25-year-old Skyler Barbee.  Barbee shot Enzbrenner and then killed himself. Kansas Flags to Fly At Half Staff Friday

Flags across Kansas will fly at half-staff Friday in honor of Sergeant Alexander Bennett who died August 6th while serving in Afghanistan. 24-year-old Bennett, of Overland Park, was one of 30 killed when their helicopter crashed after taking enemy fire. Two other Kansans died in the same indicent. Sergeant Bennett will be buried Friday in Arlington National Cemetery. Read More »

Remember Our Fallen Display Coming to Gage County

‘Remember Our Fallen’ a photo exhibit to honor of Midwest soldiers who have lost their lives since Sept. 11, 2001 will be displayed at the Homestead National Monument. Flags to be flown at half-staff Friday to honor fallen soldier

Gov. Mark Parkinson has ordered flags to be lowered across Kansas in honor of a soldier from Wichita who was killed in Afghanistan.  Flags will be lowered Friday from sunup to sundown in honor of Sgt.
