Marysville Woman Airlifted After Accident Near Beatrice

Severe Thunderstorms Cause Wind Damage; Road Detour

Wind gusts to 60 mph, and hail ranging from .75 to one inch in diameter prompted thunderstorm warnings across the area Monday evening. Several locations reported downed tree limbs. Some power lines were also affected, with traffic detoured overnight northwest of Manhattan on U.S. Highway 24, from U.S. Highway 77 to Highway K-113. A train collided with a farm sprayer a mile west of Baileyville Friday morning. Bruce Buessing, 42, of Axtell was crossing the tracks on C Road; just north of U.S. Highway 36 in Nemaha County shortly before 8:30 a.m. Buessing suffered disabling injuries, and was transported to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
