Engel New Gage County Highway Superintendent

The Gage County Board of Supervisor’s have named Galen Engel as highway superintendent.  He had been the interim highway superintendent for over a year now, replacing Marlin Kliewer, who resigned in August 2011.  Engel will make $59,000 a year plus benefits.  He was making over $53,000 as assistant highway superintendent with interim head superintendent duties in 2011-2012. Gage County Highway and Weed Superintendents Resign

The Beatrice Daily Sun reports the Gage County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting Wednesday afternoon and accepted the resignation of Highway Superintendent Marlin Kliewer and Weed Superintendent Emily Rosenthal. Barneston Bridge Officially Complete

An $850,000 bridge project south of Barneston is officially complete. Gage County Highway Superintendent Marlin Kliewer said the department received notice to proceed with the 95-day project on Aug. 22, 2010. Work on the project began in January 2011 and the finishing touches to the project were completed on June 6. The new bridge has no weight limit. Read More »
