Flags across Kansas will fly at half-staff Friday in honor of Sergeant Alexander Bennett who died August 6th while serving in Afghanistan. 24-year-old Bennett, of Overland Park, was one of 30 killed when their helicopter crashed after taking enemy fire. Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags across the state to be flown at half-staff on Thursday. The directive is in honor of Specialist Spencer Duncan, of Olathe, who died while serving the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. 21-year-old Duncan was one of 30 Americans killed in action when their helicopter was shot down.
