Severe Thunderstorms Cause Wind Damage; Road Detour

Wind gusts to 60 mph, and hail ranging from .75 to one inch in diameter prompted thunderstorm warnings across the area Monday evening. Several locations reported downed tree limbs. Some power lines were also affected, with traffic detoured overnight northwest of Manhattan on U.S. Highway 24, from U.S. Highway 77 to Highway K-113. Storms Prompt Tornado Warnings Across Area; Bern Area Hit Hardest

Another stormy night on the plains Tuesday, as Nebraska was hit hardest. Tornado warnings were issued for Gage County as spotters reported funnel clouds near Pickrell, and 7 miles east of Beatrice. As well, a 76 mph wind gust was recorded. Two buildings were damaged at the north edge of Beatrice, and as many as 3,500 Norris Public Power customers throughout Gage, Jefferson, and ... Monday Evening Storms Produce Hail and Some Damage

Monday evening’s storms brought strong winds and hail but no reports of tornados in the KNDY listening area. Morrowville reported golf ball size hail. Clifton Clyde area reported pinball size hail. STORMS MOVING INTO THE AREA FROM THE EAST

The rotation of current storms are causing storms to move EAST to WEST in the KNDY listening area.  There is a chance of severe storms.  Currently the weather channel does not forecast tornadic activity in our listening area.  They are forecasting winds of 40 mph and a chance of hail.  Stay tuned to KNDY for updates. Storm reports from Thursday night

Northern Marshall County was among the hardest hit areas of Kansas after storms rolled through Tuesday evening.  Large hailstones damaged windows, roofs, siding, vehicles, and crops.  The line of storms left Axtell soaked with over 2 inches of rain, Summerfield reported 3 inches of rain, and Beattie reported 1.8 inches of rain from the Tuesday night storm.  Oketo reported 2.25 ...
