Resurfacing Project Underway On K-9, K-99 & K-87 in Marshall County


Road construction in Marshall County began this week on a resurfacing project on K-9, K-99, and K-87. Work began on K-9 west of Frankfort. K-87 and K-99 work will follow. Traffic through the construction zone is being flagged, with a pilot car. Completion is not expected until early October. Kansas Department of Transportation has the route outline on their website. Area Valedictorians and Salutatorians

Frankfort man arrested, hit and run in Washington County


A Frankfort man was arrested last Thursday by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Jeremiah D. Arnold, age 32, was also arrested for driving with a suspended license. He remains in custody. Utility Maintenance To Affect Waterville & Frankfort Internet & Phone Subscribers


Blue Valley Telecommunications, Inc. will be performing maintenance on services provided to Waterville and Frankfort overnight tonight. The outage will affect internet and telephone services in the two communities and last approximately 30 minutes. The window for maintenance is between midnight and 5 a.m. on Thursday. Area Schools win Governor’s Award


Frankfort Elementary along with Frankfort, Centralia, and Baileyville B&B High Schools have been awarded the Governor’s Achievement Award.  42 elementary schools and 18 high schools were recognized this year.  It’s Frankfort Elementary and B&B’s 5th award and Frankfort High School and Centralia’s 6th award.  202 students were honored January 4th during the Centralia/Frankfort basketball games in Frankfort.
