Resurfacing Project Underway On K-9, K-99 & K-87 in Marshall County

Road construction in Marshall County began this week on a resurfacing project on K-9, K-99, and K-87. Work began on K-9 west of Frankfort. K-87 and K-99 work will follow. Traffic through the construction zone is being flagged, with a pilot car. Completion is not expected until early October. Kansas Department of Transportation has the route outline on their website. Area Valedictorians and Salutatorians

Area Graduations were able to be completed before the stormy weather moved into the area Sunday afternoon, although it did force the Marysville Graduation to be moved inside. Valedictorians and Salutatorians were announced at the commencement exercises. There were 4 Valedictorians at Axtell and they were Kendra Holthaus, Aaron Schmelzle, Audry Schmitz, and Laura Heiman. The other Valedictorians were Dani Schwarz of Marysville, ... Frankfort man arrested, hit and run in Washington County

A Frankfort man was arrested last Thursday by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Jeremiah D. Arnold, age 32, was also arrested for driving with a suspended license. He remains in custody.
