Fire Burns 40 Acres Near Blue Springs

Local fire departments responded to a harvested corn field on fire at the intersection of 66th and Linden roads near Holmesville Monday afternoon.  Firefighters estimated that 40 acres burned. Vacant Trailer House Fire in Wymore

Thursday night the Wymore Fire Department responded to a trailer house fire in the 500 block of South 12th Street Thursday. Washington Count Firefighters respond to a Feed Truck Fire

Marshall County Rural Fire Department receives grant money

U.S. Senator Pat Roberts has announced more than $690,000 in thirteen grants to Kansas firefighters to improve homeland security. Of those, Nemaha County Rural Fire District #4 in Bern will receive a nearly $19,000 grant for fire operations and safety.
