Emergency loans available through FSA for area farmers/ranchers.

Emergency loans are now available from the Farm Service Agency for farmers in Pottawatomie and Riley Counties due to the drought that began in mid June and continues.  Marshall and Nemaha Counties are also eligible to apply for these loans according to legislation, which provides farmers in bordering counties that have been designated disaster assistance.  Applications will be accepted until ... Drought Declarations Expanded In Several Kansas Counties

Increasing drought conditions in south central and southwestern Kansas have led Governor Sam Brownback to update the Drought Declaration for Kansas counties he issued earlier this year. Marysville firefighters and emergency responders were called to the scene of an RV on fire on Center Street, near 12th Street Sunday afternoon in Marysville. Citizens in the town of Home were evacuated at approximately 3:00 p.m. due to an Anhydrous Leak.
