Gage County discusses Rescue Squads status

The Gage County Board of Supervisors were updated Wednesday on rescue services taking place in the county. Beatrice Rescue has responded to 1,789 runs so far in 2010. Beatrice is currently covering transports for Beatrice, Wymore and Odell. Approximately 1,500 calls were in the Beatrice area with an additional 80 in the Wymore, Blue Springs and Barneston area. Aggressive DUI enforcement on its way

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Marysville Police Department and 140 other police agencies are currently participating in the Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest program.  The program, which runs through Labor Day provides Law Enforcement funds to increase the enforcement of Kansas drunk driving and traffic laws.  The crackdown is funded by a grant from the Kansas department of Transportation. The report includes statistical information, department descriptions, and highlights the agency’s activities during 2009.
