Accident sends Washington man to hospital

A Washington man was taken to the hospital after losing control of his vehicle.  On Monday Cheyenne Williams of Washington was driving westbound on 29th Road, when he lost control of his vehicle and went through a fence.  Williams was taken by a private vehicle to Jefferson County Hospital.

Marshall and Washington Voters turn out in force

Voters in Marshall County showed they cared with 30.17% of eligible voters in the county voting.  This far exceeded the estimates by the Kansas Secretary of state who estimated turnout in Kansas to be as low as 19%.  Washington county more than doubled the estimate with 45.% of eligible voters placing their votes at the polling places.

K99 in Marshall County closed Tuesday

Kansas Department of Transportation reports that Tuesday, K-99 will close beginning at 8:00 a.m. and will reopen to all traffic at approximately 5:00 p.m. the same day, weather permitting. K-99 will be closed just east and north of Beattie approximately 4 miles (at milepost 225.7) for culvert replacement work. Advance message boards will alert drivers to the roadway closure. There …
