Construction of Wind Farm in Marshall County expected this year

Construction of a wind farm between Beattie and Summerfield is planned for sometime this year. RPMAccess of Des Moines, IA, would like to start building this year because federal subsidies for wind farms are expected to expire at the start of 2014. RPMA is planning to build 35 wind turbines and may have it’s power transmitted to metropolitan areas. Broadway Construction Complete

The 400 block of Broadway officially opened for traffic on Tuesday Night.    The repairs included curbs, colored concrete, waterline installation, and electrical wiring for streetlights. Railbed Project Bid Approved

A bid of $764,426 was accepted for the Marysville railbed project. Goodwin/Thime Construction of Sabetha submitted the lowest of 4 bids. The bid must now be approved by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Marysville will receive $300,000 from KDOT for the project.
