Cleanup Continues Following Frankfort Train Derailment

Clean up continues, while no cause has yet been determined, of a Union Pacific train derailment at Frankfort Monday morning. Final reports indicate that as many as 12 cars of a 137 unit train carrying coal from Wyoming to Texas jumped the tracks at the west crossing on Highway K-9. Some 1,000 feet of track were damaged, and will be replaced. The route normally serves ...

Exmark Recalls Mowers

Exmark is recalling more than 2,000 riding mowers made at its plant in Beatrice. The company says a part on the Quest 42-inch ZRT riding mowers could fail and cause a crash. No injuries have been reported. The recall covers some mowers made in 2009 and 2010.

A rural grass fire was reported on the east side of Nebraska Highway 4 outside of Lewiston.  Fire departments from Burchard, Pawnee City and Filley were called to the grass fire Tuesday afternoon.
