A rural grass fire was reported on the east side of Nebraska Highway 4 outside of Lewiston. Fire departments from Burchard, Pawnee City and Filley were called to the grass fire Tuesday afternoon. Local fire departments responded to a harvested corn field on fire at the intersection of 66th and Linden roads near Holmesville Monday afternoon. Firefighters estimated that 40 acres burned. Blue Springs Firefighters were able to keep the fire from entering the Brethren Cemetery, located about a half mile north of Linden Road. Read More »
