Allegations of Abuse at Beatrice Developmental Center

The Beatrice State Developmental Center is under investigation once again. The Nebraska State Patrol confirmed Wednesday it is investigating abuse and neglect allegations at one unit in the center. Authorities believe 28-year-old Kyle Joekel may have stolen a white 2000 Buick LeSabre from a Beatrice home Sunday, and could be headed to Montana or Wyoming. Beatrice Police have received more than 20 theft reports involving the theft of power cords from campers. Two similar thefts have been reported in Marysville.
