Mobile Classroom To Be Moved To Barnes For Preschool Program

USD 223 Barnes school district with Twin Lakes Regional Cooperative, will move a mobile classroom unit from Fort Riley to Barnes, to serve as a new home for the preschool program. Greenleaf Head Start to close

The Greenleaf Head Start Program will close, after a vote of 8-5 Monday night by the Head Start Governing Board. The building also houses the Twin Lakes Educational Cooperative, a special education preschool, which has 36 students from the USD 223 Barnes, Hanover, Linn School District. The Greenleaf Head Start has 15 students for a total of just over 50 students. Budget cuts ...

Barnes man arrested in Beatrice Saturday

A Barnes man was arrested early Saturday morning in Beatrice on suspicion of several charges.  One of the charges include fourth offense of driving under the influence.  Beatrice police were called to Ninth and Jefferson Streets at around3:05Saturday morning to complaints about a vehicle revving it’s motor and squealing it’s tires.  The driver was later identified as Terrence J.
