The list of firsts at Rock Chalk Park grew on Saturday afternoon after senior infielder Chanin Naudin launched the first Kansas home run during the second game of the Jayhawk Invitational. Naudin's long ball was one of 14 KU's hits that propelled the No. 23 Jayhawks to a shortened 10-2 decision over Idaho State.

Kansas Sends Seniors Off With A Bang, Downing Iowa State 68-64



Box Score // Reserve senior forward Bunny Williams earned her first start of the year and within two minutes of the game's beginning, with the score knotted at zero, snatched an offensive rebound in the post and then kissed the ball softly off of the glass giving Kansas a lead it would never look back on over the next 38 minutes. The Jayhawks sent their quartet of four-year members off with a victory in their home finale, beating Iowa State, 68-64, Monday night inside Allen Fieldhouse.

Nemaha Central Will Postpone Baseball/Softball Programs

Softball and baseball programs won’t begin in Nemaha Central USD 115 until 2013.  The teams will include players from Nemaha Valley and B&B Schools. Superintendent Darrel Kohlman recommended the delay to organize the programs and make an attempt to have a full schedule of games closer to Seneca.  The board voted in October to begin ball programs.

The Nemaha County Commissioners approved a petition for expansion of the Baileyville District.  The district will provide sanitary sewer services to land where a new housing development is being located.
