Escapee Captured

The Kansas Department of corrections has reported that Ronny Dale Peters an escape from Lansing Correctional Center has been apprehended, Peters was found in the area of Gardner, Kansas Friday morning. Additional criminal charges against Peters are pending.

Three Area Schools Celebrate Homecoming Friday

Three area schools will celebrate homecoming of Friday. Hanover Homecoming Queen candidates are: Lydia Hynek, Sydney Pralle, and Katlin Hagedorn. Three Area Army Reservists Killed in Helicopter Crash

Three Army reservists based in northeast Kansas are among the victims of a helicopter crash in Afghanistan that killed 30 American troops, seven Afghan soldiers and an Afghan interpreter. 23-year-old Spc. A suspect is in custody in connection with an early-morning burglary and several attempted burglaries in Marysville on Wednesday, according to police. About 50 area residents attended last Thursday’s meeting with Congressman Tim Huelskamp’s at the Marysville City Hall. Marshall County has the highest unemployment rate in the KNDY listening area with 5.5 percent according to the Kansas Department of Labor’s Report on January Unemployment.
