NEK-CAP Receives $1.2 Million Subsidy For Low Income Residents

NEK-CAP of Northeast Kansas was among ten recipients of $1.2 million in rental subsidy and utility assistance for low income residents, in a recent grant announcement from the Kansas Housing Resource Corporation. $75,000 was awarded, and will be available to assist those in a 7 county area, including Marshall and Nemaha counties. Kansas has been selected to be one of 20 lead states that will help write new national science standards. Nebraska State Patrol does not raise money using phone calls

The Nebraska State Patrol is warning Nebraska citizens that they do not use phone solicitors to raise money.  This announcement came after reports of phone calls being received said they were raising money for the Patrol.  In a news release the Patrol said it does not solicit the public for money.
