For the first time, the NCAA is allowing college athletes to receive money in their scholarships to cover the so-called cost of attendance, those expenses beyond tuition, room and board, books and fees that come with attending school.

KU Cross Country Ready to Kick Off 2015 at Bob Timmons Classic



The University of Kansas men's and women's cross country teams will kick off their 2015 campaigns Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Bob Timmons Classic at Rim Rock Farm. The women's 5K race will get the evening started at 6:30 p.m., while the starting gun for the men's 6K is slated to go off at 7 p.m.  The KU men will try to extend their unbeaten streak at the season-opening meet, which now sits at 11-straight, while the women will be going for their 10th win in the last 11 Bob Timmons meets.

Jayhawks Escape North Texas with 2-1 Win



BOX SCORE // Freshman Anna Courtney picked a good time to send in the first goal of her career, knocking in the eventual game-winner in the 76th minute as the Kansas Jayhawks defeated North Texas, 2-1, Sunday afternoon inside Mean Green Soccer Complex. Sophomore Lois Heuchan assisted on both the Jayhawks' goals as KU concluded its first perfect weekend of the season.

Kansas Comeback Claims Arkansas Invitational Crown



Kansas was on the ropes. Dropping the first set to the undefeated home team and facing a 24-23 deficit in set two, Arkansas was one point away from a two-set lead. Kelsie Payne and Tayler Soucie turned the pressure into fuel for the Jayhawks – winning three-straight sets to claim the Arkansas Invitational crown Saturday night inside Barnhill Arena, 21-25, 27-25, 25-15, 25-15.
