Marysville, Kan. – KNDY AM 1570/FM 94.1 & FM 95.5 today announced the 2012 high school football broadcast schedule.

For the second consecutive year, every Marysville High School home and away game will be broadcast live on Classic Country AM 1570/FM 94.1 and streamed live over the internet at http://www.kndyradio.com.

Today’s Hot New Country FM 95.5 will feature 9 area high school broadcasts. These broadcasts will be available on the internet as well at http://www.kndyradio.com.

Big 12 Announces Big Monday Broadcast Schedule

The Big 12 Conference on Wednesday announced the 2013 schedule for ESPN’s “Big Monday” broadcasts.

The Kansas Jayhawks will appear 4 times this season, with Kansas State appearing twice, including the heated Sunflower State Showdown on February 11th in Lawrence.

Kickoff Times Set For First 3 Wildcat Football Games

ALL KANSAS STATE FOOTBALL GAMES AIR LIVE ON AM 1570/FM 94.1

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kickoff times for Kansas State’s first three games at Bill SnyderFamily Stadium have been determined, K-State Athletics and the Big 12 announced Friday.

K-State will open the season at 6 p.m., September 1, as the Wildcats take on Missouri State. The game time for the September 8 contest against Miami is set for 11 a.m., while K-State will take on North Texas at 6 p.m., on September 15.

K-State, the Big 12 Conference and its television partners will determine what digital or telecast distribution opportunities are available for the three games. Further details will be released as soon as the information is available.

Tickets for the fourth annual K-State Family Reunion on September 1 remain on sale, including a four-pack for $75 that can be purchased prior to August 1. There is also a four-pack of tickets for the North Texas game, while tickets to the contest against Miami are on sale for $75 (bench seating) and $85 (premium bench seating).

Kickoff Times Set For First 3 Kansas Football Games

ALL KANSAS JAYHAWK GAMES AIR LIVE ON KNDY FM 95.5

IRVING, Texas – Game times for Kansas’ first three football games of the 2012 season have been set as released by the Big 12 Conference office Friday.

KU will introduce the Charlie Weis era when it plays host to South Dakota State on Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. (Central) at Memorial Stadium. In their second game of the season, the Jayhawks will host Rice on Sept. 8 at 2:30 p.m. Kansas’ first conference contest of 2012 has TCU traveling to Lawrence on Sept. 15 for an 11 a.m. kick off.

Television plans are still being formulated through the Big 12 Conference office and will be announced as soon as finalized. Released times reflect the schedule for the first three weeks of September while the remaining games times for the 2012 season will be determined during the natural 12-day/six-day selection process.

Live Stream: Big 12 Football Media Days From Dallas

Your Country KNDY in cooperation with the Big 12 Digital Network will have live wall-to-wall streaming coverage of the 2012 Big 12 Conference Football Media Days from Dallas, Texas. Peru State Signs Marysville Native Jori Latta, Fairbury Native Traci Bohlmeyer

(Peru, Neb.) – Two teammates from the Cloud County Community College Thunderbird team signed recently to continue playing softball with the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcats. Bobcat head coach Mark Mathews has added the services of Traci Bohlmeyer and Jori Latta to bolster the PSC roster.

Bohlmeyer, a 5’8 second baseman from Fairbury and Latta, a 5’6 catcher/right-fielder from Marysville, Kan., will join the ‘Cats this fall in preparation for PSC’s second season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Cloud County finished 27-25 overall and 12-14 in the Eastern Division of the Jayhawk Conference.

Bohlmeyer played in 46 of Cloud County’s 52 games and was the leading hitter. She finished the season with a .497 batting average. In addition, Bohlmeyer led the team with 77 hits, which included four doubles and four triples. Bohlmeyer finished as the team’s leader with 45 runs and led her team with 18 stolen bases. She finished the season with a .917 fielding percentage.

Latta played in 24 games and had a .230 batting percentage. Latta had 14 hits, two of which were doubles, and had one home run. Latta finished with ten RBI and scored 12 runs.

During her high school days at Fairbury, Bohlmeyer earned All-Conference first team honors and all-state honorable mention. Bohlmeyer is the daughter of Diane and Kelli Bohlmeyer. Latta was named NCKL All-League Outfielder during her junior and senior years. Latta is the daughter of Bob and Stacey Latta. Bohlmeyer will be an elementary education major while Latta will study K-12 special education.

Mathews is pleased to have the two former Thunderbirds joining the Bobcat squad. Mathews said, “Traci is a good middle infielder and will come in and provide us with the depth needed in order to compete in the tough HAAC. Jori is a good utility player who could fill a number of roles for us. We look forward to having them join us this fall in preparation for the 2012-13 season.”

MLB All-Star Event Attendees Encouraged To Get Text Alerts

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department urges anyone who plans to attend any events surrounding the Major League Baseball All Star Game (Fan Fest, Home Run Derby, Red Carpet Parade, etc.) from July 6-10 to sign up for text message alerts by texting ALLSTARKC to 888777.

Police will use text alerts to keep baseball fans up to date on traffic, road closures and emergency notifications. The text alerts are provided free (although cellular plans may charge for them), and those who sign up will only receive alerts related to the All Star Game and its events. Once signed up, users also can opt to receive the messages by e-mail by going to nixle.com.
