Injury Accident Sends Marysville Woman To Hospital


An injury accident was reported Friday afternoon about 4 p.m. on US Highway 77 at Randolph. Acacia Brenner, 20, of Randolph was turning off US Highway 77, and struck a vehicle driven by Ruth Maschmeier, 50, of Marysville. Maschmeier was taken by ambulance to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. Brenner declined medical transfer.

Fire Destroys House South Of Beatrice Tuesday


A fire Tuesday afternoon south of Beatrice destroyed a home near South Tenth and Linden Roads. Wymore, Blue Springs, and Beatrice city and rural fire departments responded three miles south of Beatrice shortly before 5 pm. No one was at home at the time. The state fire marshal was called in to investigate the fire’s origin, which remains undetermined.
