Marshall County Recycling Program Gives $31,710 to Local Non-Profits

The Marshall County Recycling program now has a 24-hour recycling drop-off site for cardboard and paper, including newspapers. The program has placed a recycling trailer at the east end of the Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store in Marysville. According to Steve Cohorst the trailer has been open for two months. Blue Rapids Awarded $392,000

The city of Blue Rapids will receive nearly $392,000 for the rehabilitation of 13 homes and the demolition of eight unsafe structures. The funds were awarded by the Kansas Department of Commerce. Landoll Employee and Family Nearly Escape Fire

Fire Destroys Pickup

The Washington Fire Department responded to 19 North B Street Washington for the report of a truck on fire. A mid 1990’s Chevrolet pickup was destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical. The Washington County Fire Department has not released the name of the owner. Read More »

Propane Heater Starts Fire

On Saturday the Washington Fire Department was dispatched to 1548 17th Road for the report of a propane fire. A propane heater that was setting on top of a small propane bottle fell over. The only damage was to the propane heater and bottle. Read More »

On 020111 an officer was dispatched to 111 Elm Street in Hanover. As a result, Jonathan Snyder, Hanover was arrested on pending charges of Domestic Battery.
