Fire Destroys Machine Shed and More

Firefighters from Pickrell and Filley were able to save a home when they responded to a fire in a machine shed at 7 p.m. Monday. The shed, owned by Duane and Janice Parde, was located two miles northeast of Zion Lutheran Church in eastern Gage County. Wymore Man Sentenced to Prison

District Judge Paul Korslund sentenced a 36-year-old Wymore man to 14-15 years in prison Wednesday morning. Paul W. Mick was found guilty of burglary, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and driving under the influence earlier this month after leading Gage County Sheriff’s deputies on a high speed chase with a stolen car last September. 36 year old Michael Thompson who escaped early Sunday morning from the Richardson County Jail remains at large. He was last seen at a truck stop in St. Joseph, Missouri.
