Wymore Fireman Remembered

Wymore honored a fallen firefighter Saturday during the annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, typically held in Kearney, but moved to Wymore this year, the 5 year anniversary of the death of Wymore volunteer fireman Jeremy Wach.  Wach entered a burning home in November of 2007, thinking there were people trapped inside.  Wach never came back out.  The service featured speeches …

Waterville Man Injured in Accident

A Waterville man was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle accident on K-9 Highway in Marshall County. The Kansas Highway Patrol report states 26-year-old William Thompson was driving a Chevy Blazer westbound on K-9 when he struck a grain cart being pulled by a tractor.  20-year-old Dylan Zimmerling of Home City was the driver of the tractor. Koester House Statue Damaged by Vandals

Marysville Police are investigating two incidents of vandalism. Unknown people kicked open the concession stand door at the Legion Ball Field sometime between 8 p.m. Friday, August 31st and 8 a.m. September 1st.  The value of the door was reported to be $600.  No items were taken. Search Underway for Missing Teen

The Riley County Police Department needs your help locating a missing teen. Cleotilde Lucero Soto-Garcia, 15, is missing from the northwest portion of Manhattan. Cleotilde is a white-hispanic female around 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds. She has long brown or black hair to the bottom of her shoulder blades and brown eyes. Authorities say that she may …

Denison Man Injured In Accident

On 8/25/2012 at 4:02 p.m. Daniel E. Palomino, 31, Denison, KS was traveling eastbound on K-9 Highway when he left the roadway striking a culvert at Iowa Street in Wetmore.  Palomino was transported to the Holton Hospital by Jackson County EMS.  Palomino was driving a 1983 Oldsmobile.

Nemaha County Sheriff Investigating Thefts

Several thefts were reported by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department.
