Rollover Fatality Accident Reported

One man is dead after a hit and run accident and a second rollover accident. Kansas Sandwich Company Recalls Sandwiches

The Landshire Company is recalling Nike sandwiches, distributed in Kansas, due to possible health risks. The Kansas Department of Agriculture is working to get the word out, to alert consumers of the need to avoid eating the sandwiches. Farm Operations Cost Fall

A new government report shows the cost of operating a Kansas farm fell slightly in 2010. Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service reports that statewide farm expenditures totaled $11.7 billion last year, down 2.4 percent from 2009. Those expenses translate to an average of nearly $179,000 per farm in 2010, compared with $183,000 the year before. The decline in expenditures came despite ... Read More »

Beatrice Man Convicted of Attempted Strangulation

Sean Cahill, age 53, of Beatrice no contest in Gage County District Court Wednesday to theft and assault charges.  He was convicted of attempted theft by receiving stolen property, attempted strangulation and attempted domestic assault. $5000 Reward for Information About Stolen Firearms

$13,519 in firearms were stolen from Ruetti Farms shop near Frankfort during the overnight hours on September 13th.  According to a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy someone entered the building through an unlocked window on the south side of the building.  The thieves used a cutting torch to cut a hole in a safe and removed 13 firearms.  Nothing else was ...
